Need

Need opens emotions
the broken looks away
wanting no illusions
and dreams smell of decay
The need it is so desperate
but reaching leaves me cold
Hope has been defeated
numb came to enfold
unmoved no understanding
of the pain too deep to name
silence screams inside me
but empty sounds the same.
Need has no way of knowing
the reason it's ignored
its keep on knocking
it's price I can't afford.
